It maybe some years until you've have the practice and knowledge to become self sufficient with vegetable growing, but each yield is a lesson learnt - be it growing more than you need, too little or even finding a yield susceptible to pests. In fact it may even take a couple of years to get a yield going from a fruit like raspberries.
Any excess can always be frozen, but if you're anything like me the freezer will fill rather quickly!
